Unloaded Model" error - Only Whisper C++ works, Parakeet/CoreML fail
I have spent hours troubleshooting an issue where MacWhisper only works with Whisper C++ models.
The Problem: Every time I try to use a CoreML or Parakeet model (e.g., Small, Large v2, Parakeet v3), the app fails to start the transcription and reverts to an "Unloaded Model" error. This happens even though the models are successfully downloaded and set to "Active."
Troubleshooting I have already tried:
Verified my audio files are valid .mp3 (I renamed them to ensure the extension is correct).
Deleted model folders to force a clean re-download.
Tested with the in-app Voice Memo tool (also fails).
Current Status: The only way the app works is if I use the Whisper C++ engine. Has anyone else experienced this? It seems the CoreML engine refuses to load on my machine, but I need the higher quality of the Pro models.
